A vacuum cleaner
Baking soda
Vinegar
A wire brush or old toothbrush
Rags or paper towels

Once you’ve assembled everything you need, do the following Run the vacuum. Use an attachment on your vacuum cleaner to suck up all the larger debris on the tracks such as dead insects, leaves and dirt. Make sure you dig into all the corners and crevices. Get the baking soda. Sprinkle some of it onto the tracks. If you haven’t cleaned the tracks for a while and a lot of gunk has accumulated, sprinkle a bit extra in those areas. Use the vinegar. Add a tiny amount of white vinegar to the baking soda. Things will start bubbling right away and the chemical reaction will help break apart the gunk on your tracks. Let the solution sit for about five minutes. Wash with a brush. Use a wire brush or an old toothbrush to scour out all the caked-on grime that’s built up in your sliding door tracks. Use a bit of elbow grease and make sure to get into those nooks and crevices. Wipe with rags. Use rags or paper towels to wipe everything up. You’ll probably have to do this a couple of times. If it’s been a while since the tracks have had a good cleaning, you may need to use a butter knife or screwdriver to scrape the tracks and loosen any material that remains.
